Grand Master Il K. Kim was born in Seoul, Korea and began training in TaeKwonDo as a child. His first instruction was in Seoul, Korea and he eventually came to recognize the renowned Chayko Hyon as his own TaeKwonDo Grand Master. He has been teaching in Minnesota since 1971. Grand Master Kim is a World TaeKwonDo Federation Certified 9th Degree Black Belt. He has over 35 years of teaching experience and is recognized world wide as a leader in the International TaeKwonDo community. He is also an international referee. Grandmaster Kim's philosophy is that nothing is impossible once you set your mind to it with enthusiasm and persistence, a philosophy he applies with gentle patience in helping all students achieve their full potential. He gives close, personal attention to the development of each student, building black belts who represent the best that the world of martial arts has to offer. |
